Window® Users: ShootingScore is the software folder. Inside the software folder, identify and launch the executable ShootingScore.exe. You can automatically create on your desktop a shortcurt to this executable by setting this option in the in Preferences.

Macintosh® users: the software appears as a single package. Double click to launch it.

The Help for ShootingScore menu will be displayed after choosing the language in the Preferences menu or after launching the software for the second time.

Start

During the first installation, the folder CartellaDatiShooingScore will be created. Inside this folder you will find the following:

a) the fonts (either in .ttf or .otf format) needed to correctly print the barcodes on the labels for score sheets that you will need when entering the scores with the reader in the “emulate keyboard” mode. In case no font file has been provided, the print pre-set will display a warning message.
Depending on the platform or operative system version, you can install the font files either by double clicking on them, or by saving them in the Fonts folder, or by using specific utilities. Each App recognizes the files available when the software is launched, therefore the font files should be installed when the application is inactive;
b) the file DatiDoppiaAzione.4DD, a test data file. In case you already have pre-existing data files, you can open them after installing the software by selecting the option Open from the File menu.

The software recalls both its previous location and the most recently used data file by their Pathname. Only in case the recently used data file has been moved or deleted or the software has been installed in a different location, the following dialog box will be shown:

ImageNotFound

Cancel cancels the last action. Create creates a new data file in the chosen location. This file will become the default data archive. Open allows you to open an already existing data file.

The name of the current data file is displayed on top of the logo window:

DataFile

Activaction

In case the activation has not yet been requested yet, a dialog box will be displayed allowing you to choose between the following options: Continua = free 20-day trial version, Richiedi Attivazione = send an activation request via email (the computer must be online); Attivalo = enter the license key provided by Old Fox Software after your activation request (you can also Drag&Drop the license key file onto the button).

This manual has no intention to teach you how to do the Match Director job. It rather assumes that you know how to do it very well. Therefore, we are certain that you will appreciate how much simpler we made it with SHOOTIN'SCORE.

Shooters - Shooters List, Import Shooter, Export Shooters:

Shooters List:

ImageShootersList

The list of the shooters can be quickly interrogated from the search field in the lower right corner (search by first name, last name or club). New shooters can be entered by using the New Shooter button.

Double click on a row to display the detail window (subdivided into two panels listed on top General/Classifications).

General panel allows you to enter personal information, telephone number, club name etc.

ImageDetailShooter

Pending availability of the actual membership card number, the Wildcard “ATTESO” ImageShootersRegistered can be used.
The exact matching of the membership card number is under the responsibility of the Match Director, so you’d better always check the information contained in the registration emails. Anomalies in the Card information will be reported with both confirmation requests and changes in the color of the field name which will become red.

ImageDetailShooter

Mandatory fields and/or anomalies will be always highlighted in this fashion by SHOOTIN’SCORE software. Red coloured field names correspond to information either missing or wrong or impossible to find.
ImageShootersRegistered
Every change made to the shooter information fields (as ID card number, Club, First Name, Last name etc.) used during ongoing matches will be automatically transfered to the match.

The Classifications panel contains the Classifications, sub-category and role details:

ImageDetailShooterClass

Import Shooters:
the shooter database files (pictures excluded) created with the Export Shooters option can be exchanged with other users or between different data archives. All new shooter data will be highlighted by the check-box Imported from other DB, until confirmed. The discriminant field is represented by the membership ID. The selection button also works with Drag&Drop. Recently imported shooters will have the highest progressive numbers, thus they can be quickly retrieved by double clicking on the header of the # field to order the selected profiles by progressive number. To import a shooter list generated with other applications, follow the instructions of the template that you can download from the import dialog.

Matches:

ImageMatchesList

From this menu you can access the list of the recorded matches. The buttons at the bottom allow you to perform all the necessary operations. Further actions on the participants in specific matches can be performed by double clicking on the match row. This will display the information on the registered shooters.

ImageShootersRegistered

You can sort the participants according to the header fields. The white/cyan colors highlight and separate the squads. The staff or SO members will be highlighted in yellow.

ImageShootersRegisteredSquads opens a palette window in which the shooter squads are listed by day and squad number, together with the total number of members, useful to proportion them. The number is free and is defined only by the MD. The staff members are assigned to separate squads. When opened for the first time, this window is centered in the middle of the screen, but it can be moved according to your preferences. The software will remember the last window location, unless the screen size or area is modified.

The Prizes menu allows you to estimate the number of prizes needed and to print the corresponding list (that can be used e.g. to place an order at the prize supplier). Before printing you will get access to the printer settings window.
Labels prints the labels for the selected shooter.
Register shooter shows the shooter list from which you can select the one to register (select the shooter and click on Register).
You can modifiy/update, before the registration, the shooter record details with Update Shooter.
You can modify the selected registered shooter profile at any time by accessing the detail sheet either from the Shooter Detail button or by pressing Enter.

ImageDetailRegistered

If the shooter email address is available, you can use the Registration email button to send him/her an email message pre-filled with the registration details. Emails can be sent either by using external applications as Outlook, Mail, Thunderbird etc., or directly from SHOOTIN'SCORE, depending on the Preferences settings (see menu Preferences, How to Send options). Any Class or sub-category change activates the Update Shooter Record button and can be saved in the database of your archive. This will validate the change for the current match and also make it the default for the next registrations.

In case the shooter is performing a specific task during the match, as SO or Staff member, it is possible to print a badge with the chosen orientation. If you press Alt while printing, the MD badge will be printed.

The button Mobile# copies the shooter mobile phone number to the clipboard. The number can be pasted from the clipboard to be used with other applications.

By double clicking on the registered shooter row, the stages already recorded will be displayed.

ImageShooterStages

In case no scores are present, click on the Enter Scores button to enter them. To interrogate already available scores, double click on the row of the chosen stage (for example during the correction phase).

ImageScores

During data entry, chose the stage number and enter the Time or String Times, PD etc. The procedure will cycle for the new entries until the Cancel button is pressed. This procedure should be followed when the score sheet are divided per shooter and you are not using the BarCode reader.
ImageShootersRegistered
To enter the scores in the most efficient way, use the Enter Scores button in the match list and a BarCode reader, by setting Use BarCode in the score entry form. During the new scores entry, the option selected among Keep Shooter, Keep Stage or Use BarCode will be used until changed. The first and the second one can be used only if you do not have a BarCode reader or to enter score sheet with unreadable barcode.

Functions of the buttons in the match list:

ImageButtons

Below the match list three sets of buttons are present:

If Close and Delete Match have a straightforward function, the buttons New Match and Match Settings (consultation) deserve further attention. Pressing either of them will take you to the following mask:

ImageScores

During the creation of a new match, the club logo on the left will be copied from the Logo field in the Club preferences. For official DoppiaAzione Clubs, the right logo will be automatically displayed. Club logo can be edited with the Cancel, Copy, Paste menu or Drag&Drop of graphics files. Any graphic file format will be accepted. The image will be stretched to fit the field size.

To publish all the match documents on the web, activate Publish Docs Online, otherwise select No Online Docs.
ImageShootersRegisteredIn the former case, the names of the html pages to upload will be generated, and both the corresponding check boxes and the Upload Empty Pages button will be activated. If the upload worked fine, to publish these pages online you will have to send their links to your Club website webmaster by clicking on Email to Webmaster.

After updating the match registration webpage with Publish Registrations, if you activate the Highlight Paid check box, the shooter name will change color (becoming green).

central set (4 buttons): allows you to perform the pre-match/registration operations;

Look Up: downloads from the DA website the membership database. To compare the details of the shooters taking part to the match with those present in the Sede Centrale database.

Anomalies in the membership card expiry date, classification expiry date, Class different from the registration one and possible Equity Promotion, will be reported.
Since all Club contacts or their appointees can update the shooter classification data anytime and since the shooter himself/herself can modify the expiry date of his/her membership card upon its renewal, this is the only occasion in which the data of the shooters registered to the match and present in your database will be syncronized. All shooter classifications and relative dates will be automatically updated, together with the membership card expiry dates;

ImageIDPALookUp

In case of membership card data errors (Card ID missing from the Segreteria database), instead of Current the status will be displayed us Unkonwn, or Inactive in case the membership card has long since expired.

In case of a lack of correspondence between the first name and/or last name, a # symbol will be displayed in the column following Card ID. From the Detail it will be possible to determine the type of anomaly. The Club column (in case of sactioned matches it will be EP, Equity Promotion) highlights the need to apply the Equity Promotion (rule 9.5) and also rule 9.2.4 in case of Club matches.

Equity Promotion: a shooter’s Classes, excluding BUG and REV, cannot differ from each other by more than one level.

The button Detail takes you to the following mask. All possible anomalies are detailed. By passing the mouse pointer over the “<” buttons corresponding to the highlighted Class differences, the possibility of a direct update will be reported. The application of rules is highlighted in the header.
ImageIDPALookUp

Print Labels: allows you to print the labels for score sheet of all registered shooters, ordered by surname and name. You can choose between different sizes/manufacturers, and directly print the score sheet in A4 or A5 size. According to the chosen size, it will be possible to add some notes that will be printed on one of the labels of the sheet (one sheet per shooter). The barcode shows the shooter number and the stage;

ImageLabelsSet

Publish Registrations: uploads two html pages to the website selected in the Preferences. One page shows the registrations divided by squad (the staff squads are displayed on a yellow background), while the other shows the shooters ordered by Division and Class. These are linked to each other in the columns titles.

ImageLabelsSet

You must inform your webmaster of the publication of these and other pages (shooters reported by Look Up, and results) by using the Email to Webmaster button in the match detail.

Print Registered: 4 print options are available,
1) registered shooters in alphabetical order;
2) shooters ordered by division/class (corresponds to the list uploaded to the website);
3) the match Squad (to be hanged at the reception desk and to be delivered to the SO);
4) list of the shooters for the prize raffle (cut it to obtain the raffle tickets).

right set: during and after the match

Enter Scores: fast and effective input of the scores reported on the score sheets. To be done possibly with a barcode reader.

Print Results: prints the results after the settings have been defined. In case of a sanctioned match, the class bumps are highlighted by a + sign. The occurrence and total number of missing score sheets will be reported. It is possible to print a list to facilitate the identification of missing score sheets. After printing the ranking, the division and Last Shot fields in your shooter database will be automatically updated. In case of a sanctioned match, also the classification date of the division to which he/she has taken part will be updated.

Export Results: creates a .csv file of the results. It can be used if generated by a secondary station, it can be imported by the primary station with the Dual Entry Check button to finalize the ranking.

Note: the Dual Score Entry data input mode should be used on more than one computer (at least two) simultaneously. Each operator follows the same procedure adopted by the primary station, which means that the form score sheet will be entered a number of times equal to that of the stations. The entries will be compared at the end with the export file(s) of the secondary station(s), to identify possible mismatches before the ranking is published.

By passing the mouse pointer on several field and buttons (without clicking), the respective functions and/or instructions will be displayed.

About ShootingScore:

From this dialog you can obtain information on the software version and on the serial number (based on the date of creation). If you pass with the mouse pointer on it, the link to the website will be displayed, in case you need to download some utilities.
ImageShootersRegisteredBy clicking on Looking for Updates the software connects to its server and checks if updates are available (software, manual, utilities). If you are already using the most recent software version, a message will be displayed in the right area. In case a software upgrade is available, a message will inform you of the date when the upgrade was made available and two buttons, corresponding to the following download options, will be activated:

a) Directly: will download the software update in .zip format via ftp and will save it on the desktop.
b) From Website: will open and direct your default browser to the software upgrade page, from which you can retrieve the right update for the App version running on your platform.

In both cases, after the download you will have to unzip the file to extract the new App version (on Mac it is a single file, while on Win it is a software folder), which will replace the old one that should be discarded. Warning for Win users: before discarding the old software folder, please make sure that it does not contain data files.

ImageAboutDialog

Preferences :

the preferences dialog is divided into 5 panels:

ImagePreferences

General:

a) Club information (DoppiaAzione ID and Club Name are mandatory);

b) The path of the software and of the current data file (you can maximize the window if the path is very long). Since the software can be replaced at any time, it is useful to know the position of:

c) Your Data. It is advisable to organize your data files by storing the archive in a separate folder. For Win users: NEVER store them in the software folder, but rather use the CartellaDatiShooingScore that has been created upon launching the software for the first time.

d) The settings to upload your data online (Online Docs). You can use either your website or the software's one shooting-score.com;

if you do not want to use any server, do not select and do not fill in the fields relative to the support ftp site. The availability of such information is not mandatory.

e) at the bottom you can choose the software language and the paper size.

Classes: are the thresholds to access/be promoted to the Classes during the Classifier. The default ones are from the Rulebook 2015 v1.1.

PN Penalty: the software is ready for 1 second per PN. The default value is 0.5 seconds per PN. All new matches will start at this value.

Registration e-mail Fields Name: in case a web form has been used for the registration of the shooters, it usually sends to the recipient address an email containing the information of the fields filled in by the shooter. To this end, the form must be built with predefined field names (consult your webmaster). Once the field names have been defined and organized in a table, if during the registration of a shooter (Register a Shooter) he/she does not appear to be present in the database, by clicking on the Create New Shooter button a new button Fill Fields from Clipboard will appear, provided that the whole body of the text of the subscription email has previously been copied. The software will extract from the copied text the information needed to fill in the form fields.

Browser & emails: defines how to send emails;
a) to the webmaster to communicate the links of the match pages;
b) to the registered shooter to communicate the registration confirmation;
c) to the shooter from the shooter’s detail in the database,

1) with an external Application as Outlook or Thunderbird etc., or
2) directly from the software interface (in this case it is necessary to enter the sender/reply to address). Before posting, the email will be displayed and can be modified, if necessary.

ad used browser

1) Use external app like Chrome, Explorer, Firefox etc.;
2) Use built-in Browser (Beta test).
